Tree of Life and Mammoth Spear at the British Museum
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Royal Northern College of Music, all students were asked to write two pieces to be performed at the British Museum, each representing an object within. I chose to write a piece inspired by the Tree of Life in the African section of the Museum. Within this solo work are multiple voices just as there are increasing branches on the Tree. On Friday 5th July 2013, during the evening, Luke Coomber gave a two beautiful performances of Tree of Life for solo violin.
Michelle So and Joss Brookes gave to highly engaging performances of Mammoth Spear for cello duo.
